Sir Francis Drake
Sir Francis Drake was a very skilled navigator, pirate, privateer, and slaver. He made money by participating in slave voyages to Africa. Through these voyages, Sir Francis Drake developed a hatred for Spain and helped destroy the Spanish Armada. Sir Francis Drake is most known for being the first Englishman to circumnavigate the globe. Through his voyages he made contact with the Mapuche, a native tribe in South America. His voyages also benefited himself, for they brought him great riches. Dias, on the other hand, gained no profit through his voyages.

Henry Hudson
Henry Hudson was a dutch explorer and is most known for his discovery of the Hudson River, Hudson Bay, and Hudson Strait. He took four total voyages, unlike Dias who only took two. During Hudson's third voyage he discovered the Hudson River, this is his most important voyage. During this voyage he encountered the Mohican Indians, a friendly native tribe, unlike the Khoikhoi who threw stones at Dias's ships until he left. Hudson traded beads and corn with the Mohican Indians in exchange for some of their resources. Henry Hudson's voyage impacted England, the Native Americans, and the Columbian Exchange.

Magellan took two voyages and was killed during his second voyage, similar to Dias. His crew during his second voyage, were the first people to circumnavigate the globe. Ferdinand Magellan's encounter with Indigenous people was not very peaceful, for he battled them in hopes to convert them to Christianity, Unfortunately, during this battle Magellan was killed. Magellan's biggest impact was proving that all Earth's oceans were connected and that the earth was bigger than it was originally thought to be. Dias's impact was not nearly as geologically significant.

His second voyage was the most important, he sailed around Africa to India, but before he did this and gained control of the Indian Ocean the Arab Muslims controlled the Indian Ocean. The Arab Muslims would still have control over the Indian Ocean if the Portuguese hadn't took over the Indian Ocean. Vasco Da Gama impacted the Asians by giving them a trade route to the New world, whereas he impacted the Arab Muslims by invading their trade market.

Minuit took two major voyages, like Dias, and his first voyage was his most famous voyage. He bought Manhattan Island from a peacful tribe called the Lenape for 24 dollars. Although Minuit bought ownership of the land, the Lenape thought land was sacred and couldn't be sold. The Lenape lost this area of land. Peter Minuit had many impacts on European society such as him gaining control of the Manhattan Island. Just like Dias, Peter Minuit was lost at sea in 1638 and died.

The king was pleased with his discoveries and sponsored Cabot's second voyage. Although Cabot didn't encounter any Indigenous people during his first voyage, the area he landed in, Newfoundland, was most likely owned by the Beothuk. The Beothuk were a very peaceful native group, when they realized Cabot and his men were on their land they left to avoid conflict. Cabot's discovery of new land was beneficial to Europe, but not to the Beothuk. Cabot's first voyage was similar to Dias's because they both claimed a small area of land for their countries.
